Wraparound Care is a family-centered practice that informs work at Cutchins Programs. It is not a service or treatment, but an approach that incorporates and adheres to the following principles:
We focus on identifying the strengths in each youth and family to help them find their way out of the maze of problems that brings them into our program.
Understanding the needs at the root of problematic behaviors allows us to to identify creative ways to help meet these needs.
Cutchins continues to be a program that demonstrates a commitment to the care and support of our youth and families. Cutchins staff is driven to go “above and beyond” and specialize in addressing difficult and challenging problems and behaviors.
Treatment at in the Cutchins Programs starts and ends with the family’s vision of what they wish for their youth and their home-life. When we work with children and youth who do not have a family, we listen carefully to those closest to the youth as well as the youth themselves to determine their individual goals.
Cutchins is well known for our ability to form relationships and pathways to connection in difficult situations. Often times by the time children come into our care, the family feels desperately alone and isolated. Our model of collaboration helps families to feel both more empowered and supported as they search for new directions in helping their children.
Cutchins serves children and their families from across western Massachusetts. We work hard to reflect the growing diversity that we encounter in our clients and their backgrounds. NCCF is especially capable of supporting youth who are struggling with gender and sexual identity issues and challenges. Above all we are committed to listening to each unique family story and to respect and support the values and traditions of each family’s culture.
Cutchins programs has been a forerunner in integrating these principles into our models of residential, follow-along and community-based care.
